A fantastic week for OPNewsletter. We moved from a rare negative week to almost equally positive this week. At April 25th closing, OPN’s May portfolio is up +4.0% (including commissions), an excellent weekly gains of +8% (from -4% last week). This excludes impressive gains on VISA speculative trade.
The more impressive part was one portfolio that was down -15% last week, it’s up +7% this week and overall, all the 4 mini-portfolios are positive. We have employed 84% capital and remaining cash is good enough should we need any adjustments. Theta is starting to kick-in and we are well positioned to gain from any upsides.
Some additional feedback for the OPNewsletter:
I only started as a subscriber about 6 weeks ago. I did the March trades on paper and I was comfortable enough to graduate to real money with the April trades.
I had a lot of experience with the stock market but not with options. I got a little tired of my poor decisions and losing a lot of money because I’m not able to spend the time necessary to make that a success. I’m a big fan of Investor’s Business Daily and have used that mentality when making stock trades, but too much was left for me to decide and I wanted something better.
I have a friend who has been trading options extensively for a while now. He subscribed to OPN a month or 2 before I did and referred me. I wanted to make a change in my investing strategy. There were 2 main things I was looking for in that change: 1) ability to earn fairly consistent returns while maintaining a fairly conservative mentality 2) an educated advisor to tell me what to do. OPN satisfies both of those - in fact, one thing I wasn’t expecting was that the community is also well educated and is also able to provide advice as well.
So far I’ve been very satisfied with OPN, but I’m so new I don’t feel qualified making that judgement yet. So far it’s working for me.
So far the only thing that I am concerned about is whether OPN has enough influence to change the market. The only visibility I have to this is the “page view” count for the posts - which are currently low enough to give me no cause for concern. But as more people subscribe to OPN the more I worry about that. This has not stopped me from referring friends, however I don’t have a lot of option-trading friends. If I become successful using OPN that might change though…
Thank you very much for everything that you do. Your service is excellent, the posts are very educational, and the website is very easy to use. Keep up the good work…
