So, the commodities were punished hard very badly, isn’t it? Agriculture and fertilizer stocks were dumped just two week ago. But here is what I think, when the weaker ones were dumping shares, smarter ones were purchasing those.

Mosaic (MOS) just announced its earnings results and said its fiscal third-quarter profit jumped more than tenfold on higher prices (The Mosaic Company engages in the production and marketing of crop nutrient and animal feed products worldwide. It operates in four segments: Phosphates, Potash, Offshore, and Nitrogen) and by the way the demand in not abating.

Was that an end to commodity boom? a bubble burst on Agriculture stocks? and anything and everything you heard on this stage called “Wall Street” a few weeks back, and see where we are today. These are almost scaling new heights.

The money is made from surprises and MOS was no different. But will this be surprise for POT now? I doubt. The prices may rise leading to its earning but unless it shows great results, surpassing even MOS, it may not see that impact. But beware, POT has been defying gravity against all odds (aka bearish comments).
